Featured Interview: Menopause, Career Change and Why Workplaces Need to Pay Attention
Angela Wikins-Green was recently invited onto the Brooklands Radio show Just Women, hosted by Samantha Carr, to talk about her career journey and the growing conversation around menopause in the workplace.
Broadcast on Sunday 29th March, the interview explores Angela’s 25 year career in corporate retail leadership, and the very real experience that led her to step away and build Green Path Coaching.
During the conversation, Angela shares how her experience of perimenopause began to affect her confidence, clarity and performance at work, at a time when she was operating at a senior level. What followed was not a gradual transition, but a pivotal moment. One that ultimately led her to rethink her career and focus on supporting other women navigating similar challenges.
The discussion moves beyond personal experience into the wider workplace reality. Angela speaks about why menopause is still misunderstood in professional environments, how it impacts capable, high performing women at leadership level, and why organisations can no longer afford to treat it as a tick box exercise.
A key part of the conversation focuses on the shift towards menopause action plans in UK organisations, and the opportunity this presents for businesses to move from awareness into meaningful, structured support.
This includes:
Better understanding of how perimenopause shows up at work
Creating environments where women feel able to speak openly
Equipping managers with the confidence to respond appropriatelyT
aking a more strategic approach to retention and performance
Angela’s work now centres on helping both women and organisations navigate this transition with clarity, confidence and practical support.
